The three articles of clothing I can never have enough of are shoes, jeans and coats. My shoe obsession was inherited from my Grandma. She couldn’t walk past a sale without buying a pair. I wear jeans practically everyday, so I always feel justified in taking advantage an occasional indulgence. Living in a climate like Chicago, you have to be prepared for every type of weather. That’s where the outerwear obsession comes in and how I justify my bursting coat closet.
With the cooler fall weather starting up, which is my favorite season, I am currently lusting after way too many coats. Instead of buying all of them, I thought I would do a little series on all the ones I want most (and maybe one of you readers will buy one so I can live vicariously through you, you stylish minxes!)
I’ll start with the practical option… the weatherproof jacket. It isn’t the sexiest, but waiting for a bus on a rainy, windy day makes it a necessity. One day I would really like to get a waxed cotton jacket, especially one from the classic brand Barbour. I love the heritage of the brand and the fact that natural materials are used to make a sturdy, stylish, waterproof and hopefully future addition to my wardrobe. They are an investment though, and I need to save up my pennies for one!
